In Plain Sight - Donnie Wahlberg Transcript

In Plain Sight Preview: Season 3 Premiere

SOURCE

By Kelly West:
This week, USA is bringing back their original drama series In Plain Sight. We have some clips from the season premiere, including one that features guest star Donnie Wahlberg!

The premise of IPS is fairly simple. The series follows Mary McCormack, a U.S. marshal who works in the witness protection program. Her job is to keep people safe, which can often be fairly tricky and highly dangerous. Like most of USA’s other original series, In Plain Sight is the kind of show you can start watching mid-series. I say this because I think it’s worth checking out. The show’s about 2 parts action/mystery/suspense, 1 part family/relationship-drama and 1 part humor. Great characters and great stand-alone episode stories.

In the season premiere, with the help of her partner Marshall, Mary sets out to figure out who shot her. The episode guest stars Donnie Wahlberg.

Below is USA’s description for the series.

In Plain Sight stars Mary McCormack as Mary Shannon, a U.S. Marshal working in the highly secretive witness protection program (WITSEC). Her job is to relocate Federal Witnesses, some of whom are career criminals, and some of whom are innocents who had the misfortune of witnessing a crime. But they all have one thing in common - someone wants them dead. Mary's job is to make sure this doesn't happen, while at the same time dealing with her own dysfunctional family.

In Plain Sight also stars Frederick Weller, Nichole Hiltz and Paul Ben-Victor, along with returning guest-stars Lesley Ann Warren, Cristian de la Fuente, and Joshua Malina. Oscar, Emmy and Grammy winner Rita Moreno (Cane, The Guardian), four-time Emmy winner Allison Janney (The West Wing, Juno), Steven Weber (Wings, Studio 60), Tess Harper (No Country for Old Men, Breaking Bad), Josh Cooke (Committed, Four Kings) and Donnie Wahlberg (Boomtown, The Sixth Sense) have also been cast to guest star in season three in the USA Network hit original series.

Showrunner John McNamara (The Fugitive, Eyes) joins the show this year as writer/executive producer, further elevating the show’s narrative drive, production value and design. "In Plain Sight" comes from Universal Cable Production

Wahlberg Protection Program

Dorchester homey Donnie Wahlberg,...

Guest-starring on USA’s ‘In Plain Slight,’ ex-New Kid Donnie joins up

By Gayle Fee and Laura Raposa

When the writers of USA Network’s “In Plain Sight” needed a Boston guy to throw into the Witness Protection Program, they needed to look no further than Donnie Wahlberg.

The Dorchester homey guest stars on Wednesday’s season premiere as a Hub truck hijacker who is hiding out in New Mexico with his teenage son and new family.

“There are certain times when fame and success have become challenging and hiding out has seemed really appealing to me,” said Wahlberg, who spent last week in Toronto filming the CBS cop show “Reagan’s Law” with Tom Brady [stats]’s baby mama No. 1, Bridget Moynahan.

“I’ve traveled to some real obscure towns and thought what it would be like to set up shop here and disappear. But I’d eventually go stir crazy and miss all that I take for granted.”

Like Twitter, we assume!

Usually, when Donnie’s in a new town, he sends out Tweets to meet his obsessively devoted New Kids fans - whom he calls “soldiers” - to get a feel for the locals.

But to get into character for his witness protection gig, Donnie said he flew to New Mexico - where the Mary McCormack-Frederick Weller drama films - a week early and “laid low.”

“Living life on the run and living with a false identity is a hard thing to do,” he said. “Fugitives sometimes turn themselves in because they can’t live with the pressure.”

As for playing a Boston underworld figure, that wasn’t too hard to master.

“There’s always someone to draw on, someone you pluck off the street - a friend, a cousin, an uncle,” said Wahlberg. “It’s the worst thing in the world to get it wrong because there’s that added pressure to get it right. If you stink it up as a Boston guy, I will get a lot of flack when I come home!”

BTW, Wahlberg’s Charlestown cop drama, “Bunker Hill,” which also starred Moynahan, “turned out great,” he said.

“It just sort of didn’t fit timing-wise for TNT,” said Donnie. “So it was rebuild it or try something else.” Hence, “Reagan’s Law.”

So now that Donnie’s spending lots of time on the tube, what programs does he TiVo?

“I’m a big reality TV guy,” he laughed. “I don’t know why I like trainwreck TV - ‘Bad Girls Club,’ ‘Tool Academy’ and ‘Jersey Shore.’ But I also like ‘The Dog Whisperer,’ ‘Iron Chef’ and ‘Chopped.’ ”

(Coincidentally, in his ‘In Plain Sight’ episode, his character owns a diner that is known for its popovers.)

“I tend to gravitate to reality TV to turn off my brain,” he told the Track. “I work a lot - you know I work 22 or 23 hours a day - and I need to be able to tune out with ‘Tool Academy.’ ”

Donnie said he was also a fan of “The Shield,” which starred Andover homey Michael Chiklis as a cop working on the edge, and “The Sopranos” cast because they weren’t “typical Hollywood leading men. They were regular guys.”

Joey McIntyre Opens Up About Rhys’ Hearing Loss

SOURCE

When Dad’s a pop star, every minute of the day comes with a soundtrack.

“There’s always music in the house,” says New Kids on the Block’s Joey McIntyre, who lives in L.A. with his wife, Barrett, and their sons Griffin Thomas, 2, and Rhys Edward, 3 months.

But from the day he came home, the youngest McIntyre has heard little of it.

Rhys failed a routine hearing test at the hospital after he was born Dec. 13th, the couple tell PEOPLE, and extensive follow-up tests at UCLA showed that he had severe hearing loss.

Says Barrett, “What’s wild is we will never really know how [anything] sounds for him.”

When the McIntyres got the diagnosis two days before Christmas, “We went through a full range of emotions,” says Barrett, 31. “As a mother you want to protect your kids. I thought, ‘How could I let this happen?’ I felt responsible.”

But as with most cases, there is no known cause of Rhys’ hearing problems.

“You’re just shocked, and your stomach gets in knots,” says Joey, 37.

“It feels like you’re holding your breath. And that feeling lasted for a few days, until you get educated. You go from, ‘Oh my God’ — fearing that someday my son might be walking into the street and I’m calling after him and he’s not going to hear me — to ‘It’s going to be okay’ to ‘It’s going to be amazing.’ Rhys’ hearing loss is part of who he is. His life is going to be as special as Griffin’s. There’s just work involved.”

Alison Dyer for PEOPLE

Doctors says Rhys’ condition will not get better over time, but how he processes sounds can be improved.

“We’re being totally proactive about the situation,” says Joey. That meant signing up for speech therapy and getting Rhys fitted for hearing aids in both ears when he was just a month old.

“You put his hearing aids in, and his little eyes just widen,” says Rhys’ auditory verbal therapist Sylvia Rotfleisch. “He’s so tuned in.”

The weekly therapy sessions with Rotfleisch have become family bonding time, as Rhys’ parents hold him and make particular sounds to elicit coos and other noises from him.

“It does enrich your life,” says Joey. The first time he responded to those sounds, Mom and Dad had tears in their eyes.

“He knows our voices now,” says Barrett. “He’s a sweet, responsive baby. He’s doing all the things he should be for a baby his age, and that’s beautiful. It’s all of the things you take for granted.”

“His hearing aids make a huge difference,” Joey adds. “Griffin goes, ‘Cool hearing aids, Rhys-y.’”

Alison Dyer for PEOPLE

They won’t know for at least another nine months whether Rhys will need cochlear implants (electronic devices surgically inserted behind the ear), but no matter what happens, they’re optimistic.

“A family friend has a 5-year-old girl with hearing loss, and she goes to the same school as her sister,” says Joey. “Just to learn that was like a burst of sunlight. Will Rhys hear as finely as we do? I’m not sure. But he’ll be able to come to one of my shows and take it in [in his own way].”

While they were thrilled to learn that they will be able to “do everything together as a family,” says Barrett, the McIntyres do think about how other kids will treat Rhys when he’s older. Barrett feels his temperament will only help.

“He’s really easy-going; he has that chill vibe,” she says. “Rhys’ hearing loss won’t stop him from doing anything. That’s not to say his first day of school or when he goes to high school, I won’t be sick; It’s hard enough to go to school with curly hair and a zit. But he’ll be so cool that hopefully he won’t have a problem with it.”

Alison Dyer for PEOPLE

For now, the couple revel in family moments like 6 a.m. breakfasts, when Gene Kelly’s “Singin’ In the Rain” is on, Griffin and Mom are dusty with flour from making waffles, and Dad skims the newspaper and talks to baby Rhys.

“It gets better and better,” says Joey, who recently released his fifth solo album, Here We Go Again, and hits the road with the New Kids in May.

“This is the fabric of life. And I can’t imagine mine without this, because Rhys is awesome and perfect and great.”

Donnie's Columbus I Got It Party by @covergirl_76

SOURCE

My next adventure was in November for Donnie's "I Got It" party in Columbus at Sugar Bar. The day before the party Donnie tweeted that DWAIR was headed for OH-IO, so I did some checking & headed to the airport! There were about 15-20 other fans who also showed up to be the welcome party for Donnie. We went to the gate where he would be arriving (he tweets everything so it's not hard to find him when he wants to be found!) We took paper towels from the bathroom & made a welcome to Columbus sign to hold up when we got off the plane.

All the other passengers got a kick out us-they had no idea they'd been on a plane w/ a celebrity! lol Donnie & his crew were the last ones off the plane-we all started screaming, he was just as excited to see us too!
There was a waiting room right there so we all went in there to talk, take pix etc with him. At one point his assistant Johnny said let's just do a group pic, but donnie said no I'm gonna take a picture with each one of em! He spent about a half hr with al of us! He tried to do a bubbletweet but the Fail Whale shut him down! LOL Donnie if you ever read this-I have the missing bubbletweet!

I was videotaping pretty much the whole time. He was razzin me about it asking if I was making Titanic 2 or something, said I must be Tony Spalelli's sister. I said but now all these fans will have their time w/ you on video. He said it's ok girl just teasin ya. My friend Pam had yet to meet him & asked me to call her if I got to see im so she could say hi. So I handed my phone to Pam so she could talk to him & yes I got that on video too! lol

Before he left he told us he would be at WNCI radio station in the morning for an interview & to come down.

The next morning I went to the radio station & was suprised to find only 3 other fans there. We saw a Hummer limo pull up at the other end of the building, we went running down & saw Flossy waking into the building, but he came right back out. We figured we has missed Donnie going in but would just wait for him to come back out. We started talking to Flossy & he said well since it's cold why don't you hop in the limo? He opened the door & as I went to cimb in I'm face 2 face with Donnie! They were at the wrong entrance so he hadn't gotten out yet. He was on the phone so I just smiled & waved as I moved to the front of the limo to sit. We drove around to the other side of the building & donnie told us to hang out & keep warm while he went inside. We were flippin out-OMG!

We listened to the interview and waited for him to come back out. When he came out we talked for 10min or so about the interview.

Then it was time for us to go but he did pose for a pic with each of us before we got out :)

I went home & waited for my friends (Steph, Jess & Suzi) to get here!

We had M&G tix to meet him before the party, it was Suzi's first time meeting him-I was so excited for her! When it was my turn I thanked him for letting us keep warm in the limo :)

and then it was time for the party! We ended up standing right next to the bar which made for quite a night especially since it started about an hour late & Steph & I were drunk by the time he took the stage! We had a BLAST though!

Thanks to Jess & Suzi for babysitting us! LOL After the show we went looking for Donnie at Waffle House, the first 1 we went to-Suzi went in to check it out & the waitress said "If you're looking for that Backstreet Boy he's at the 1 on Wilson Rd" LMAO so of course we left & went to that one! We got there just in time to see him leaving, I love watching him with fans-he really does love us, so patient!!

Boston House of Blues by @covergirl_76

Source

A few days after Donnie's visit to Columbus tickets went on sale for the NKOTB Christmas concert at The House of Blues in Boston-and by pure luck we got tickets! Thanks to John for helping search Ticketmaster on his computer too! HOB only holds about 2400 ppl-we got general admission tickets for the floor :) John decided to drive us all there-it was a BAD GIRL Reunion! Jen, Steph, Jess,Suzi, Pam, Lisa & I were all going!

Thanks to Jess I also was informed of a Blockhead dinner the night before the concert at Hard Rock Cafe.
Donnie had been invited & was possibly coming! We got in just in time before the stopped taking reservations...Phew! We drove to Philly to pick up Pam & Jen then in the early morning we headed on for Boston! There was a big snowstorm coming up the coast so we left early enough to get to Boston b4 the snow did. Boston got like 10inches of snow later that night which cancelled our sightseeing plans-it was just too cold & such a mess everywhere.

We went to Hard Rock for the dinner, and we were in the "boston Room" which had some NKOTB memoribillia :D

There were about 60-70 fans there-it was fun getting to meet more Blockheads!

We were done eating & some ppl were starting to leave when we saw Armando walk in the room-that only means 1 thing...Donnie was here! He made his way around the room hugging everyone.

He said he didn't have time for pix with everyone but he wanted to at least stop by to say hi to all of us! Whe he came around to me I got my big Donnie hug...

& then introduced him to John! Donnie took off his glove to shake John's hand. John thanked him for making me so happy all the time, and Donnie said "i want you to know that all the love & energy she puts into this doesn't go wasted, these are not my fans, they are my friends, my family."

John leans in & says well what I REALLY wanna thank you for is all the blowjobs you told her to give me" Donnie looks at me (I'm crackin up) then back at John then starts laughing & says "group hug on that man!"

The next night was the concert, we were all so excited to see what they had in store for us with this being a 1 of a kind Christmas show! And all the proceeds went to Toys for Tots. Getting to see them sing their Christmas songs & their new song "Coming Home" was an extra special treat!

The show was awesome! We had so much fun-especially Jen! LOL This was our first full NKOTB concert together!

There was even a special appearance of some of the members of New Edition-they did a song with them on their last cd The Block "Full Service".

Nkotb presented a check to the Marines for $60,000 plus 5 truckloads full of toys that we all donated!

Thanks to John being there I was able to get most of the concert on video & he took pix for me!

He got some REALLY good pix-we all determined he must be a "Joe Girl" bc there were so many pix of Joe! LOL

The best part of the show had to be Mistle toe Magic when each of the guys picked a girl to kiss under the mistletoe! WOW JON!!!

We went to the afterparty, Donnie was there and performed his new songs "I Got It" & "Rise & Grind" he told us that the club we were at was where he & Jordan went the night they got together to start discussing the NKOTB reunion :) We could see how exhausted he was, hope that boy learns to get some SLEEP someday! My wekend in Boston had to come to an end unfortunately, but now I definitely have to go back someday when the weather is nice so I can get to see more of the city!

Joey Mac in Detroit by @covergirl_76

SOURCE

Next stop...JOE MAC in Detroit! Lisa & Suzi drove here and the next morning we headed for Detroit, after a short detour in the middle of nowhere, thanks to the tomtom lol Anyway, we made it to Detroit, checked into the hotel then went to scope out the line. Since the show was general admission to get upfront you wanna get there early. There were maybe 20ppl in line to we went to get some lunch then went back & found Joe's bus in the parking lot behind the club!

We tried tweeting him to see if he'd come out since I have a MacPac Card (*1601) LOL It didn't work so we decided to go back to the hotel, get ready & come back.

When we came back to get in line there were only 10 more ppl who had come in the meantime :) We got in line behind to bh;s who were sisters-very fun to hang out with as we waited 3hrs or so til the let us in. And TY to their policeman friend who brought us hot chocolate! Haven't found them on twitter yet-where are u 2?

We ended up with a great spot to see the JoeShow, only about 5 ppl deep from the stage & on some stairs :D Lisa & Suzi neither one had seen a solo Joe show. I told them they'd be Joe-Girls by the end of the show! Joe has a different kind of energy on stage when he's solo. You get the FULL MAC ATTACK! I will never get tired of hearing him sing Please Don't Go Girl or Cover Girl!

And a new fave now... "I'm Waiting"...

That boy can sing his ASS OFF!!

.....AND HIS SHIRT!! :D

This pic is without any zoom, yeah we were pretty close! :)

"If I Run Into You" i had forgotten about this song! luv it!

J-Block was in the audience so Joe had to bring him up on stage to do "Games"

A cpl more...

After the show we went out to the parking lot behind the club where the bus was. We waited over an hr trying to decide what to do, when we found Ethan :D

A little while later I saw that Ethan tweet that he was having a drink at Boscos, so we decided to get out of the cold, have a drink then come back & see if anything was going on. We took a seat at the bar, opposite end of Ethan, it didn't take too long til he came down & asked why we were all the way down there & to come join him :) We had another drink, just chatting when Suzi's friend came in to tell us she'd just gotten a pic w/ Joe on the bus! Later Ethan...we ran around back & were the last 3 in line to meet Joe. Johnny was numbering everyone's hands, Suzi was last-then he said that's it :D

Here's us w/ Johnny while waiting our turn to see Joe!

All 3 of us went in together, got our hugs & talked with him for a few minutes. I asked if him & Eman were planning to do anything together-he smiled and said yes! actually we're working on putting something together now. "Cute Hat Guy" told Joe how far Lisa & Suzi has driven from PA for the show, Joe said wow, i hope it was worth it! lol We thanked him & left, he looked exhausted!

Before heading back to the hotel we had to stop for some White Castle becuase 1) it was the only thing open & 2)Lisa & Suzi had never had it before! lol

Here's my videos from the show :)
