Profits vs. charity

SOURCE

New Kids on the Block’s Dec. 20 show at the House of Blues is supposed to benefit Toys for Tots. But the real profits may wind up in the hands of ticket agencies. Fans have complained that many of the tickets for next month’s charity gig were snatched up by companies such as Ace Ticket, which is selling the $60 seats for $200 to $300. Even New Kid Donnie Wahlberg has weighed in on the ticket issue, tweeting that perhaps the ticket agencies profiting from the show should rethink their priorities. “. . . Some of those ticket agencies selling tickets at a premium should consider that it’s a charity event and PONY UP!!’’ Donnie wrote over the weekend. He also told fans, “We do not expect you to pay insane amounts from scalpers. Use your own discretion.’’ Shortly after sending those tweets, the brave Wahlberg joined a select group of his followers on an overnight bus trip to Montreal. Donnie tweeted from the road yesterday afternoon, “The one on one FACE TIME is sooooo cool on this bus! Love my LOVERS!’’
